Burnie’s Rock Shop in Madison, WI has been a magnet for artists, craftsmen, and collectors since 1962. Founded by Burnie Franke as a shop for rock hounding hobbyist and enthusiasts, this fixture of Madison’s retail scene has grown into so much more than a hobby shop!

In addition to featuring the basics of lapidary: tumblers, rock slabs, rough gems and tools, they supply stones, metals, and tools for jewelry making. They also offer a vast selection of finished silver, gold, and natural colored gemstone jewelry. Don’t see just the right item? They do custom work in gold and silver as well as provide repair and lapidary services.

Offering mineral and crystal specimens for the merely curious to the serious, advanced collector. They showcase authentic fossils from around the world to delight all ages. Their tumbled stone selection is the broadest of any shop in the Midwest. Carved stone décor items include animal figurines, lamps, skulls, and a variety of other designs.

Decades of sourcing these natural wonders have led them to contacts with artisanal miners, lapidary wholesalers and jewelry makers around the globe. Directly knowing those responsible for the extraction through final fabrication of our products means fair pricing and our assurance of an ethical supply chain, where all participants can earn a decent living.

Come visit their unique store at their two conveniently located Madison, Wisconsin locations!  Make sure to stop by their Booth # 2308 at the Milwaukee Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show

With over 500 booths and 200+ vendors, the Milwaukee Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show featuring the Bead Pavilion really represents the complete array of products, services and resources that the industry needs to benefit all who exhibit and attend.

Fashioning a show floor where the public can come and buy right then and there and take home with them, as well as developing business relationships to foster growth and sources needed for a prosperous wholesale and retail marketplace, is not an easy thing to do.

Reaching out to the entire community by attending shows throughout the U.S., canvasing the internet and referrals from vendors, we have become the largest show east of the Mississippi that will allow the industry a great opportunity for all involved.

Products represented: Minerals – great for collectors, educational use, development of various products and general use of what certain areas are composed of; Fossils – fulfills a collector’s curiosity and used for décor; Gems – used for arts and crafts, manufacturing jewelry and décor items; Jewelry – from the wearable to the décor and display purposes; and BEADS – that jewelry designers and manufacturers use in making the best possible jewelry around.
